Being a small business is tough work these days. I respect anybody who has a brick and mortar business - and your work for downtown Smithfield and Bruce Naegelen’s work in Clayton go a long way toward supporting these businesses. I hope the folks who are already here, and the ones who relocate to Clayton and Smithfield, realize the wonderful businesses they have in their area.

Thanks for a great post about one of our many fine small businesses in Downtown Smithfield. We are lucky to have Becky and Chris as one of our merchants, and hope that Johnston County citizens will continue to support and shop locally owned establishments such as this!

I wish the federal government would take a serious look at the USPS. It could be a money-maker, but nobody seems to care.

When we first got to Clayton, they lost all of our mail containing our bill payments. I try to never use Clayton Post Office as much as possible. I’ve also had multiple incidents with them.

Of course! Relocate Clayton is a big supporter of the arts in Johnston County, and we try to promote the events that the council promotes. Every little bit of exposure helps, right!

Just as a follow-up to this post….All-Star Trash charges $240 for a year of garbage pickup. So by the time your on your fourth sticker from Johnston County, you could have hassle-free garbage pickup each week.

I have no affiliation with All-Star - they were just the first rate I could find.

The county claims its current system is in place to prevent fraud, but in my opinion it goes too far. If I want to use my neighbor’s landfill sticker to take my trash to the convenience center, I’ll just use my neighbor’s car. C’mon Johnston County, get it together. There’s a better way, but you don’t seem open to it.

You might want to modify any barrel you get with the huge overflow port that can be found on http://www.aquabarrel.com - most of those rain barrels have an undersized overflow port - that means that after that big bucket is full what happens next? Mine just overflowed out the top So I installed an aquabarrel over flow port and I never had another problem with water gushing out the top of the rain barrel!
