Sen. Rouzer Promises to Fight Tax Increases. But Will He Fight New Taxes in SB202?

I like history, so I went back in time to the campaign website for Sen. David Rouzer (R) who represents Johnston, Wayne  for a refresher course regarding his view on taxes.senrouzer-r-nc

According to his site:

At the height of each great civilization, taxes were low and revenues were high. At the end of each great civilization, taxes were high and revenues low. I believe this history is instructive.

We need to lower all taxes in order to provide people more of their money in order to help re-invigorate the economy and generate more revenues for the state. Lower taxes encourage innovation and reward hard work necessary to create economic growth and new innovations that benefit all of society.

Ok, but does that mean he’s going to vote against the current budget bill? I don’t know, so I called him and was assured by “Judy” that he’s opposed to “raising taxes.”

So, what about NEW taxes, since that’s what SB202 seems to be full of. Well, Judy doesn’t know if Sen. Rouzer is opposed to new taxes. one can only hope that he is.

As a taxpayer, tax is tax. If the state of North Carolina puts it’s hands any deeper into my pockets I’m going to have to file charges or charge by the hour.

I wonder if this video excerpt from Sen. Rouzer’s campaign website will shed any light on the raising vs. new taxes question?

You tell me…is he against new taxes? I’m waiting for his office to call me back.
