Movie Theaters in Johnston County

If you’re thinking of taking your family on a trip to the movies and assume you have to head toward Raleigh, you might be heading in the wrong direction. There are a number of good quality movie theaters in Johnston County for your enjoyment.

Relocate Clayton thinks the best budget-friendly deal for seeing a movie in Johnston County is the Howell Theater located in downtown Smithfield, NC. At only $2 per ticket, this theater is a wallet-friendly place to see a movie. Yes friends, I said $2 per ticket. The theater was built in 1935 and last renovated in 1996. It’s a nice, yet there are much newer ones around…but they aren’t charging $2. The entrance and bathroom are not wheelchair accessible. Concession prices and show times are listed on the Howell Theater’s web site. Parking is on the street.

Directions from Clayton to Howell Theater:
hwy 70 to hwy 70 business
The speed limit will drop as you enter downtown Smithfield. The police station is downtown, so try not to get a ticket.

Turn RIGHT onto 3rd street.
Theater is at the end of the block on the LEFT.

Directions from 40/42 to Howell Theater:
from hwy 42 … turn LEFT onto Cleveland School Rd. (CVS on left)
Take Cleveland School all the way until it ends and intersects with hwy 210
LEFT on hwy 210
At lighted intersection bear RIGHT on hwy 70 business
3rd RIGHT, turn onto 3rd St.
Theater is at the end of the block on the LEFT

turn LEFT onto hwy 210
at lighted intersection bear RIGHT onto business 70 heading through downtown Smithfield
Turn LEFT onto Industrial Park Drive (Burger King on your Right at this lighted intersection… turn is just before I-95 bridge)

Clayton, NC Little League 2008 Registration

Clayton, NC Little League is currently accepting registration for spring baseball. Clayton, NC Little League is for children between the ages of 5 and 16. February 16th, 2008 is the deadline to register. According to the Clayton, NC Little League’s web site,  there is a cap on the number of participants in each age group. This is a community-based league that includes children from the town of Clayton, NC and the areas of Archer’s Lodge, Wilsons Mills, Cleveland, and the Wake County border.

Jonston County Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Before you tackle any new home improvement projects in 2008, think about visiting  the Johnston County Habitat for Humanity ReStore. The Johnston County Habitat for Humanity ReStore receives a large number of donations of both new and used building supplies and items from area builders and members of the community.

Johnston County Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore’s inventory includes building materials, such as wood and lumber, doors/frames, flooring material, carpeting, electrical fixtures, fireplaces, appliances, furniture, and interior and exterior fixtures for the home and garden.  Inventory can vary day-to-day and prices are typically 50% - 70% less than prices at other home improvement stores.
